
2K Games and Gearbox Software today announced two different editions for Borderlands 2, in addition to the standard stand alone copy. They will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on launch day, September 18, 2012.
The first being the Deluxe Vault Hunter's Collector's Edition and will run for $99.99 and will include:
- An authentic Marcus Kincaid bobblehead
- The 'Inside the Vault: The Art & Design of Borderlands 2'hardbound book
- A collectable sticker set
- A Map of Pandora
- A digital comic download code
- bonus downloadable in-game digital content

The second special edition announced for Borderlands 2 is the Ultimate Loot Chest Limited Edition which will run you $149.99. It will include everything in the Deluxe Vault Hunter's Collector's Edition plus the following (image at top of article):
- A collectable scaled replica of the red loot chests found throughout Pandora in the game
- A steel book case
- Creatures of Pandora wide-format ID chart
- A lithograph postcard set
- field notes from Sir Hammerlock
- A cloth map of Pandora
- A numbered certificate of authenticity
Also, for those who pre-order Borderlands 2, special editions or not, will gain access to the Borderlands 2 Premier Club. This will allow you to download the Gearbox Gun Pack, a Golden Key, the Vault Hunter’s Relic and an all-new fifth character class - the Mechromancer.
The Gearbox Gun Pack is basically a collection of unique guns. The Golden Key will allow the player to unlock a rare in-game item in the mysterious Golden Sanctuary Loot Chest found in the game. The Vault Hunter’s Relic is described as "an in-game item that boosts players’ gear-hunting fortune while playing solo or teaming up with friends." The Mechromancer character class will no be available immidiately, but rather when the character is complete. Once ready, it will be a free download for those who pre-ordered the game.
