• Call of Duty Gamer Goes Too Far

Gamers who play online all know to never really take threats seriously that occur during online play, but it seems an incident occurred earlier during the week that involved a teenage boy and an unknown gamer online. According to the teen, he was in the lobby online waiting for a match to start (in Call Of Duty: Black Ops) when out of nowhere a voice spoke to him over the headset.

“Some dude just popped out of nowhere, and basically said he’s going to hack me, he’s going to get my information, call the SWAT team over to my front yard.” Said the teen whose parents did not want the teen identified.

The gamer then continued to play, ignoring everything the person said online. No more than half an hour later local police received word of a shooting in a house with the entire family still inside and some one shot.

The entire ordeal escalated to the point that the parents started to notice men outside with real guns (the police and SWAT team) and a bull horn calling out to the teen by name.

“We were all scared, out of our minds... [I] Didn’t understand why they were here. We thought there was some stranger, some dude running around our house, hiding behind the boat. We didn’t know. We didn’t expect nothing,” the teen stated.

At one point one of the parents called 911 to find out what was happening. Later the operator convinced the family to come out from the home and ensured their safety. The incident is still under investigation by local police.
