  • Dark Souls Creative Director Apologizes for Framerate Issues, Unsure About Sequel

Dark Souls' creative director Hidetaka Miyazaki provided a recent interview with Edge in regards to the issues that fans have been pointing out about his recent game. The only complaint that some would find to be the most known is the fact that this is not a forgiving game. Within all the pain and suffering of dying over and over in this twisted universe the game had some technical problems as well.

Dark Souls featured some bad frame rate issues that bothered a lot of players. Miyazaki is disappointed in his work but knows there can be improvement in a sequel. Problem is there isn't a belief that the fans will forgive him and his team for this mistake. For those who are not familiar Dark Souls is the spiritual successor the Demon's Souls which received much critical acclaim. Dark Souls is no different and the improvements made on the "sequel" were very much noticed. Let's hope Miyazaki knows that the industry respects him and there is always room for more of his work.

The framerate was only a bigtime issue in Blighttown. In the swamp, it sometimes feels like you're playing in slow motion. Otherwise, I couldn't find much to complain about in the game. Probably my favorite game of 2011.
