EA has today announced one of the 17 athletes that will be featured on the cover of this year’s FIFA Soccer game.
The player announced was the 28 year old Brazilian Real Madrid’s midfielder and 2007 Golden Ball winner Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Lelte, better known as Kaka. The young soccer hero will be the center-piece, along with 16 other athletes, of global advertising, marketing and promotional campaigns to help give the game an even bigger push.
“I’ve always been a fan of EA SPORTS and especially the FIFA series,” said Kaka. “Being on the FIFA Soccer 11 cover is a great honor for me since very few players have this opportunity, and there have been some great players featured on the cover of this truly amazing videogame.”
Kaka began his soccer career at the young age of 15 for Sao Paulo FC, winning the 2002 World Cup with the Brazilian team, and then in 2003 he signed with A.C. Milan, and finally settled into his spot with Real Madrid in 2009 and currently has 133 career goals in 372 appearances.
FIFA Soccer 11 is currently being developed for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC, PSP and Nintendo DS and is expected to ship October 4th, 2010.
