Bethesda has announced the latest add-on content for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Hearthfire. Hearthfire allows the player to purchase land and build their own home from the ground up.
Put a "permanent mark" on the land of Skyrim with your own home. Not only can you build your home to your liking, but maintain it and add onto it whenever you wish. Once you purchase the lot, you will obtain a deed.
The player can then use the drafting table and carpenter's workbench to turn raw materials into those usable in the construction of the house. This can also be use to craft decor for your home, from home furnishings to display cases to showcase your treasures, and even trophies.
Many rooms can be built. You can build a kitchen, a greenhouse, and a library. a garden. You can hire a steward to buy the materials for you, among many other things. Then, you can bring your wife to live with you and utilize the new adoption system to adopt a child.
It's not as easy as it sounds. Responsibility is key to raising a family and owning a home. You will be required to raise your children carefully and protect your home from unwanted creatures.
It is all detailed in the trailer below. Hearthfire will be available for download through Xbox LIVE on September 4th for 400 Microsoft Points.
