Here we have a nonsensical teaser trailer for Metal Gear Rising, full of all kinds of crazy stuff happening, hinting at something big coming to the game's website on April 30th. That's a significant date in Metal Gear Solid history, as anyone willing to call themselves an MGS fan would immediately recall.
"Do you remember what today is?" Rosemary hassled Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2. It was April 30th. Didn't ring a bell, of course, at least not until the end. Raiden, or Jack as he's also known, would remember by the end of the game's events. It was a memorable day for him, and maybe 4/30/2012 will be memorable for us too.
Rising, of course, stars Raiden or 'Jack the Ripper' himself, after the events of MGS4, somehow reverted back to his bad-ass ninja self. I'm extremely skeptical of Rising at this point, but we'll see.
"You'll never be the same, Jack," says a man at the end of this teaser. I guess the same can be said about the MGS canon.
