When Ex-Square members formed Mistwalker we have seen some gems by them Lost Odyssey and The Last Story. Mistwalker has shown their interest in the Wii with The Last Story which has seen a good amount of praise. Although we didn't know how they felt about Nintendo's new console they recently shared some opinions on it. Matsumoto told Siliconera some thoughts he had on JRPGS being playable on the Wii U.
I feel that the Wii Uís interface, as with other tablet devices, works best for browsing and arranging information. One merit is the ability to use a touch screen to directly manipulate information, such as looking up a monsterís weak point or, like with a carís GPS, as a tool to understand battlefield conditions on a sub screen. This special feature will likely bring about opportunities for deep research into JRPG strategy.
Also, I think that things like saving information gathered during gameplay, adding to your own characterís memories and experiences, and sharing with other players via Wi-Fi and the Miiverse will become an experience typical to the Wii U.
