Atlus USA has released new screenshots for their upcoming sea adventure RPG Etrian Odyssey III that show off everything from the character’s looks to the battle system and dungeon exploration.
Etrian Odyssey III will challenge players as they attempt to gain riches and glory by traversing through ruins and sail the oceans in search of a lost city creating their own maps of the various mazes they come across as well as creating their own sea charts, so those that aren’t paying attention could easily find themselves lost and confused with a map leading them nowhere. Players will choose their character’s class from princes and princesses to monks and ninjas and begin their journey for glory.
The screenshots, though small, give a pretty good impression of the game’s look. The battle system and dungeon exploration seem to be in first person perspective and the creatures they do battle with seem very detailed, as do the characters shown in some of the other screens. Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City will be available for the Nintendo DS September 21st, 2010 and for those that preorder the game you will also receive a bonus art book from select retailers.
