You know what? I hated Little Big Planet. In my opinion, it was meandering, dull and nearly pointless. I bought 2 copies for some reason and it's the closest thing to buyer's remorse I have had in this generation of games. What I do have to give the game credit for, however, is that the game did not involve guns and exploding gratuitous head shots. In an age of blood on blood, here was a game striving to be wholesome and gentle. I admire the game for that reason and applaud that it made the sales it did. It makes no difference that I can't stand playing it.
Just announced today at Gamescon the game Puppeteer looks to draw much inspiration from Media Molecule's level building mantra.
This title however looks much more interesting. Imagine Medievil meets Bioshock meets Sackboy. The game is being developed by Sony's own Japan Studio. No hard release date info was given, but this is one to watch closely. In watching the trailer I was mildly dumbfounded by what was actually going on. There are scissors, moving scenes on a stage, and lions. Or is that a cougar? Stay tuned.
