As of May 20th Nintendo's "doomed" handheld has reached a milestone of 6 million + sales in Japan alone. This brings the lifetime sales of the system to 17.1 million which is very very impressive for a "dying" system. Nintendo also stated it will begin to print money yet again (making profit on each sold) starting September this year. The Nintendo 3DS was seen as a failure console for it's lackluster launch, design problems and most importantly pricing. Two of those issues have been fixed now we just have to play the waiting game. I have been an on and off 3DS user many times but I have vowed when Nintendo does go forth with a re-design or releasing the ice white color I will fully emerge myself in the handheld. My wallet says nothing as the console is doing great now and will only continue to see growth with the release of New Super Mario Bros. 2 due out later this year.
Thank you ComputerandVideogames for the info.
