Paul W.S. Anderson, creator of the Resident Evil live action films has turned his gaze towards another Capcom franchise: Monster Hunter, Andriasang reports after translating an interview with the producer. The original Japanese interview can be found here at Cinematoday.jp According to the translation, Anderson has been spending a great amount of time playing Monster Hunter and "A film conversion is currently in planning."
No word from Capcom yet as to whether or not a film is in the works. One would have to question what direction Anderson would take with a Monster Hunter film. The Resident Evil films may have broken records, but despite their popularity amongst casual movie-goers, many fans of Capcom's survival-horror zombie games have a less than enthusiastic view of the live action flicks. The few comments from Andriasang's viewers also seemed less than excited about the news as well.
