We all know about the price drop coming on the Nintendo 3ds on August 12th. Those who purchase one before that date, will receive 20 free downloadable games. Most are feeling a bit ripped off, at the moment, being that the price drop comes a mere less than five months after its release.
Are the 20 downloadable games not enough to cure your hurting pocket? Nintendo still has not announced if there will be a set 20 games, or there will be more and we get to pick and choose, to our liking. Since that hasn't even been detailed, it is hard to be okay with this sudden price drop.
A slight cure has come to those who are thinking about purchasing one, or even another for a family member (that would be me in this case, as I want two for my kids). Wal-Mart is rumored to start the price drop on the 9th, rather than the 12th, of August. This means that you should be able to register the system and receive those 20 free downloadable titles, on top of pick it up at $169.99! Just make sure you connect to the eShop, at least once, as soon as you pick it up, or at least before August 12th!
Cheap Ass Gamers says that "a trusted source, Walmart will be dropping the price of the Nintendo 3DS on August 9th, 3 days before the official drop takes effect."
This "trusted source" is onto something though. It would be in Wal-Mart's best interest to beat everyone to the punch, to ensure that they get the sales.
