Fans of the Professor Layton franchise will be pleased to hear that Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva will be coming to the U.S. The movie released in UK last October.
Rest assured, Viz Media announced at Anime Expo that they now have the publishing rights to the movie and it will be released here in the states.
The plot, as listed on Anime News Network, reads:
Puzzle expert Professor Hershel Layton and his apprentice Luke are invited to an opera by one of his former students, only to learn that most of the audience in attendance have come seeking eternal life, which has been promised to be given to a single person who successfully comes out on top after a series of puzzles. Along with the claim that a young woman who died has been reborn as a child and the search for a long lost civilisation, the mysteries run deep as Layton seeks the truth behind all the riddles.
Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva is based on the award-winning series and will feature events after the game Professor Layton and the Specter's Flute, or Professor Layton and the Last Specter, as we better know it as, which is still not out in the U.S. Not sure if this will be somewhat of a spoiler to the game, once it is finally released here. There is still no release date for the game or the movie. The fact that it released late last year for the UK, probably means we won't have to wait too long for it's release here.
Being a huge Layton fan, this was enough to be giddy over.
