• PS Vita Street Fighter x Tekken Gets a Date with the Shelves



      Capcom has announced the release date for the PS Vita version of Street Fighter x Tekken with an image of the game's official boxart. The game will include 55 playable characters, which breaks down to the 38 core characters, the 5 PS3 exclusive characters, and an extra 12 more for those who purchase the game at launch.

      The first run of the retail copies will give you two codes. One code for the additional 12 characters and another code that gives you free alternate costumes for the 38 core characters in the roster.

      The 12 characters are:

      The Street Fighter side:
      • Blanka
      • Cody
      • Dudley
      • Elena
      • Guy
      • Sakura


      The Tekken side:
      • Alisa Bosconovitch
      • Bryan Fury
      • Christie Monteiro
      • Jack-X
      • Lars Alexandersson
      • Lei Wulong




      The game will offer the players Cross-Play between the PS Vita and the PlayStation 3 and Capcom promises "a host of additional new features and surprises designed specifically" for the PS Vita that will be revealed before the game's release.

      Don't forget that the DLC you purchase for the PS3 version will be able to be used on the PS Vita version, and vice versa. Any customized data can be shared between the two versions, as well. The game will utilize the PS Vita's front and back touch screen, the augmented reality, Near functionality, and the digital compass.

      Street Fighter x Tekken will be released on October 23rd and will be purchasable at retailers or as a PSN download.
