John Rambo just never got his due. In his eighties heyday, there were a mere handful of gaming atrocities branded with his scrawled red logo. The Commodore 64,Nintendo Entertainment System and surprisingly the Sega Master System were delivered atrophied, generic action shooters. Yes I am including the arcade Rambo too! These dogs were barely playable. I say this because I own them all. While the game's only real purpose was to feed the mania for the next film, the least they could have done was given my character a decent jump. The NES cart for instance resembles a less accurate version of The Legend Of Kage. There is no Rambo here folks, only Acclaim's money grubbing hounds lapping up discarded game code. This looks very much like Metal Gear done wrong. The Rambo films were before Metal Gear, but Metal Gear got everything right.
The gaming gods may forgive Rambo's transgressions yet.

There is a new Rambo game in development.
Development duties are in the hands of Polish studio Teyon. Reef Entertainment looks to be publishing and the game will run the gamut of first person gun play and action from a more cinematic, fixed perspective. The game will be available on PC and unnamed consoles with a release date not yet determined. The demo will be playable at Gamescon August 15th-19th.
