• Rovio's Bad Piggies to Launch Spetember 27th

On August 30th, the phrase 'Something PIG is coming!' flew around the internet. To my disappointment, it did not bear news of the Bacon Apocalypse (a term that surprisingly pulls up results on Google), but to the enjoyment of Angry Birds fans everywhere else, it meant only one thing- there's another game coming out for the popular series.

      Faith in Internet: Unchanged

However, what many thought to be a spin-off game featuring the lovable swine antagonists is starting to look like its very own story. The teaser trailer for Bad Piggies hinted that they'd play center stage, and a follow-up advertising campaign ensued with their very own Facebook Page and website. Rovio's Executive VP of Games Petri Jarvilehto confirmed the above and much more in an exclusive with Fast Company. According to Jarvilehto, the pigs become the heroes in Rovio's next game, a physics puzzler.

Fast Company's J.J. McCorvey states: "there are no birds in sight, and the pigs are bouncy, jovial, and downright likable--a far cry from the snorting, antagonizing characters from the Angry Birds installments." The game launches on across iOS, Android, PC, and Mac on September 27th, with a mobile-version price of $.99. Rovio has said that the 'sibling' franchise will be a long-term commitment, and many wait to see if Bad Piggies will achieve the success that Amazing Alex failed to reach.

You know, I'm happy the piggies are getting their own game, but does it really have to be ANOTHER physics puzzler? In the end it's Rovio that's putting all their eggs in one basket.
