Did you know that this year is the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy? With such a monumental occasion, no doubt there will be speculations about things to come. While XIII-2 and Theatrhythm have been nice gifts (including the recent announcement of FFVII being re-released on the PC), others are trying to pinpoint other projects in the works. During an interview with the Japanese magazine Famitsu, Motomu Toriyama (director of both XIII and XIII-2) had dropped hints that we could be seeing another game featuring the pink haired protagonist, Lightning.
"The [FFXIII-2] Lightning download content had an ending that left a feeling mystery and hope. The day when the meaning of this will come to light is not too far off."
Could we see a possible sequel to a sequel soon? For now, we will have to wait until August 31 to see as the anniversary event has been scheduled at an art gallery in Shibuya, so we could find out more details soon about this or any other "Final Fantasy" related projects (that isn't VII). Alongside with XIII, Toriyama also made a small mention about the HD remake of FFX and its release date... There isn't one yet...
"Regarding HD conversions, there is a lot to look into, so please wait a bit more."
Still, there was at least some mention that it is still in the works, although we probably won't hear more details for a while. What do you think about this? Are we really going to see a 3rd installment set in Cocoon? Will we find more details out on August 31? Will we get to see more details for the FFX HD remake soon? Could we find get information about FFXV? and when will we finally get details for KH3?
