• Rumor Mill: Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale Edition- Did IMDB leak the roster? and Ico Confirmed?

In today's rumor mill, we look towards PASBR (doesn't quite roll off the tounge like SSBB, does it?) as recently two new interesting things have come up recently.

The first is one picture that was posted recently:

As you can see, we see a female model and a picture off to the side as a reference point. As you can see from the right side, people are speculating that Yorda from ICO could be making her way to the game. Now there are other people who are saying that it could be Nariko from Heavenly Sword or Elena from the uncharted series, however at this time it is hard to say. I will say though that the guess for Elena is understandable considering her hairstyle while Nariko seems to be a "gimme" right now. Who is it? Time will tell...

Meanwhile for the other piece of news, we look towards IMDB.

      http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2385173/fullcredits#cast

From here, we see a list of Voice Actors who are "supposedly" going to be in the game. Now obviously I'm going to leave out Kratos and Parappa as they are already confirmed, so here are the rest:

      Already confirmed as unplayable:
Bentley and Murray- We know that Murray is used to help Sly with a super attack, while Bentley is part of Sly's level 3 attack, so it is obvious they aren't playable
Captain Quark- We saw him get eaten by a Hydra, unless if they plan to do someone else getting eaten, I don't see him being playable either.

      Unconfirmed but expected:
      Cole MacGrath
      Jak
      Nathan Drake
      Ratchet (with Clank)

It is pretty obvious that these four are going to be in the game. We got Ratchet's and Jak's stage, while Cole and Drake are staples of the PS3 era.

      Unconfirmed but unexpected:
      Crash Bandicoot
      Spyro
      Neo Cortex
      Victor Sullivan
      Dr. Nefarious
      Rayman
      Gex the gekko

Now let's sort this list out...

There is no denying that it was Crash and Spyro that helped build up the PS during its early days, although recently with their recent incarnations, they have lost their way. If this is true, it will be interesting if they choose to either use the current looks for these two or if they will revive them in their previous glory.

Look at Crash over the years:

I am willing to go up to 2005 for his look, but then for the 07, 08 look, that is stepping way to far out as to why we loved the Bandicoot. Seriously, tattoos and pants that keep getting shorter... I like this one guy's response to this...

However this doesn't seem as bad when you compare it to Spyro's evolution. I mean, he did look older and stronger as games got older, but then skylanders happened...

If they add in Spyro, it will be interesting to see which incarnation of Spyro they choose (hopefully the PS1 version with updated graphics)...

Personally this is what I will hope for... Anyway, then we have Crash's life-long foe, Neo Cortex.

Now Cortex would be an interesting character to see. At this point, we don't know exactly just how the roster will be sorted out: Will there be more than one from each series to partake in the fight, or is it limited to one each? Either way, we know that Cortex can fight (when he isn't getting his ass kicked) and much like Crash, if he is in, I do hope for the earlier models than the latter...

Now for Victor Sullivan, I haven't played uncharted *Flame shields up* so I can't say for sure how he works and if he would be playable, or if he will help Drake in his fight, again time will tell...

Now one I am excited to see is Dr. Neferious:

He is perhaps one of my most favorite villains in any video game series since unlike most villains he is actually a genius that knows what he is doing, he has legit reasons as to why he is so evil, and he is one of the most hilarious characters in the Ratchet series (and I just love how he talks and how he works with Lawrence to make many memorable moments).

I want him to be playable, I want to see if he does alot of short circuiting in combat, and to see if Lawrence will be his assist for super attacks. Otherwise if he just makes a cameo, then I guess that is ok too...

Then we get to the very interesting choices:

Rayman is understandable considering he did get his start on the PS as well. I don't feel I need to explain much more since we all know who this limbless fellow is... However, I don't think many people know who Gex is.

Gex the Gecko, he was one of many mascots that tried to catch on to the same popularity wave as what Mario and Sonic rode on, but were sadly lost in time. Now if Gex was in, that would be very unexpected.

Again though, these are all rumors. Hard to say if IMDB is credible or if it can easily be changed like Wikipedia. Again time will tell, however with E3 around the corner, could we be seeing any of these characters? Will we see something completely unexpected, could we see a Shadow of the Colossus stage?

What do you think of these rumors? Credible or false?
