File this one under rumors and speculation, folks, but we just might be seeing a new Resident Evil title on the Nintendo 3DS—as soon as this fall or winter. An report on NintendoWorldReport talks of an article on Digital Spy that went into details about the game—supposedly called Resident Evil: Degeneration-Damnation-Downfall 3D—but the article has since been removed from the site.
This has to be taken with a grain of salt, not only because of the questionable title(the first two subtitles, Degeneration and Damnation, are names of the CG films starring Leon Kennedy), but because the source of the article is from NeoGAF, and their source is a posting on 4chan.
The rumor says the game, supposedly starring Resident Evil 2 and Code: Veronica star Claire Redfield, would take place between Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. The first two 3DS Resident Evil titles, The Mercenaries and Resident Evil: Revelations, have both released within the last year.
