Amazon has just announced that the pre-orders for Black Ops 2 have surpassed Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 3. At this rate it is only a matter of time before Call of Duty sales numbers reaches the amount equal to the population of China as every release surpasses the last. I for one am not surprised but at the same time I am glad Treyarch is getting more recognition for their Call of Duty games. Although they are similar to others Treyarch tends to polish their games more and includes more fan input in their titles than Infinity Ward did during their later years. It looks like the series is in good hands again but the premise of Black Ops 2 just seems really silly as of now.
"Amazon has revealed that day one pre-orders for Call of Duty: Black Ops II are ten times the pre-order numbers of the original Black Ops on its first day of availability. In addition, pre-orders are also 30 percent higher than Modern Warfare 3's day one pre-order numbers. "
Those are the specific numbers Amazon revealed about Black Ops 2 and keep in mind this is only Amazon. We don't know yet how the game is faring in retailers such as Best Buy and Gamestop.
Thank you IGN for the info.
