Looks like Ubisoft has jumped on the bandwagon of Digital Distribution. Previously Uplay was Ubisoft's way of rewarding players for completing tasks in their games, but now it has also launched its PC store so that you can buy their games through them directly. While this is nothing new (Steam, EA), Uplay PC is also launching with "Special Deals," including a number of their games cut down to about half their regular price and even doing a special $1 game deal for this weekend. Yesterday's deal was H.A.W.X. 2, but today's deal is From Dust for $1, followed by Silent Hunter 5 on Saturday and the original Driver on Sunday. Of course, if those games aren't your cup of tea, there are many more selections to pick from, so be sure to check it out. Because this is a "GamesCom" special, the deal will end on Sunday.
Interesting how many developers are starting to move their businesses into digital distribution... I wonder how many more developers may follow this means to conduct business with the consumer. Is digital distribution the way of the future?
