Viacom purchased Harmonix, back in 2006, for $175 million, when music games were on a rise. Now the company is ready to let go of Harmonix. Viacom seems to believe that this genre has grown stagnant and will not raise revenue. Harmonix is said to be responsible for decreasing Viacom's third quarter earnings by 59%.
